Openbox Sx6 Hd Firmware I'm hoping this post can be moved to a dedicated Openbox section of the forum as I'm sure there will be many issues and problems relating to the SX6.it being relatively new. Anyway here goes. • How to Upgrade Firmware 1. Please click below to download latest firmware for ( channel list update by network) • • for other please visit 2. Download the list to your computer first and after copy the list and paste into your USB Memory stick. Please make sure you put the file onto USB main directory don’t put into any folders or change the file name. Normally some internet browsers change the file name if you download more than once by putting the brackets and numbers in the name e.g.
SKYBOX_F3S_F5S_3601HD_CMT_14041006DA.abs(1).dbs which is wrong and box will not accept the file. The file should be look like SKYBOX_F3S_F5S_3601HD_CMT_14041006DA.abs 3. Put the USB Stick into the usb port in the back of the box. A progress bar will run and after completion box will re-boot automatically and after re-boot firmware is upgraded.
Buyer Beware, this receiver has problems and is poorly engineered It will receive some HD satellite broadcasts. However it has a lot of factory firmware problems built into it. Some functions like the time and the timer functions don't work at all. Some of the receiver remote control functions don't do anything either or they don't do what they are supposed to do. The product manual doesn' explain very well at all about the different receiver functions and about how to set them all up.
Driver usb android. The factory has released 3 firmware updates for this receiver and all of them came with multible problems. Of the 3 versions the first one appears to have the lesser of problems so I reinstalled it and now since I am now stuck with the receiver I am hoping that the factory will finally come out with a version that will correct the defects and make this receiver into what one would expect it to be.
If I had known at first of all this disfunctionality that is built into this product, I would never have purchased it, not even at half it's current retail price. Seller 5 stars, product - skip it until they get the bugs out. I can only write about my experience and the seller gets 5 stars but I could not program this receiver after multiple re-boots. It would take some of the input and reject others.
I've programmed several satellite receivers even going back to BUDs and old Echostars and General Instruments receivers and I can only conclude there is something wrong with the one I had. The features convinced me to buy it but the programming simply would not stick.
