Similar issueon this end, you must try a few steps before giving up all hope, first is to download the latest firmware to your external drive or USB, let the unit recognize it, then restart the unit after updating and it should be fine after that. 
If the problem persists, then I believe that you need to convert all of your music files on a PC and do not allow any of them to be compatible with a mac, because the processing system of the cortex seems to freeze when reading these kinds of files for long periods of time.if things are still dicey after you do this then i suggest you reformat your entire drive, if you think its worth getting the mixer back in action.maybe, maybe not.good luck Posted on Sep 11, 2010.
